Front Cover

Glossy full colour – can be an inset picture or a full bleed (image goes right to all edges).

Back Cover

If the artwork or cover photo is full bleed, it can extend to the back cover. If only on the front, the back cover colour will compliment the art/photo. When inset, the surrounding colour on the front and back will be selected to compliment the art/photo.

Images

• Authors may supply photos for scanning.
• Electronic images can be JPEGs, TIFFs, or bitmaps at 300 dpi.
• If too large for email, submit on CD.
• Inside images will be converted to black & white.

Original Art

• Can be submitted for scanning.
• If providing scans, use 300 dpi.
• Colour artwork for inside will be converted to black & white.

Bio Text

Submit a bio (8–10 lines).

Blurbs

• Up to 3 blurbs (3–4 lines each) by anyone the author chooses.
• Placed on back cover (bio/pic may also be included).

Poems

• Chapbooks: up to 32 pages of poetry/credits.
• Each page: up to 36 lines, max 40 characters (incl. spaces) per line.
• Titles and blank lines count as lines.

Publication Credits

• May be listed at page bottom (credit counts as lines) or on a credit page at back (reduces number of poems).

Poems Submittal

• Preferred: Single MS Word (.doc, not .docx) file, 11pt Arial, one poem per page.
• If not possible, poems can be sent in the body of an email.

Typing Service

If the author cannot provide files as specified above, there is a charge of $1.00 per poem/page.

Order of Poems

• Author specifies poem order.
• Suggestions may be made for layout (e.g., longer poems on facing pages).

Editor

Authors are encouraged to have a friend or fellow poet review and suggest edits prior to submission (especially spelling and punctuation).

Proofing

Author receives ONE copy (by email or mail) of the manuscript layout for proofing and corrections before printing.

ISBN

TOPS provides an ISBN number for each book.

Subsequent Print Orders

• $6 per chapbook (min. 20 copies)
• $10.00 per perfect bound book (min. 50 books)
