Rules and Guidelines:
Blind Judging: No author ID to be anywhere
on the same page as the poem, back or front.
No theme to be added on the poem page. The judge should be able
to discern the theme from the words.
Enclose a cover page with poem title(s) (or first line(s) if no title)
vertically on the page.
Author name, address, phone number & e-mail if possible.
Poems may be previously published,
but no previous contest winners, please.
Poems must include at least one of the following themes:
Strange and hidden things, the unexplained, ghosts and hauntings,
poems about black magic, fortune telling, tea leaf reading, tarot cards,
palm reading, Halloween poems, poems about mystery,
poems about knights and maidens, love lore, poems about raptor birds
including hawks, falcons and eagles and ravens
Lines to have no more than 32 letters (characters) in Arial 12 font
& poems not to exceed 36 lines and the stanza breaks count as lines.
All styles welcome.
Deadline: September 30th, 2023
Contest Fee: $20 for the first 4 poems, additional poems $5 each.
There is no limit to the number of submissions per entrant.
