Ed Woods was born in Toronto and now lives in Dundas, Ontario, and through attending workshops where established writers gave encouragement to expand upon life experiences an interest in poetry became a passion. Often referred to as Industrial Poetry developed from experiences of employment and observations in the field of sciences and infrastructure the first poem to be published in 2003 was named Pipelines, which was related to work on the natural gas lines of Alberta. Since then the topics range from the serious to comedic twist and a wide range of observations or insight written from the heart. The most creative times seem to be when multi-tasking such as driving a transport truck or flying an aircraft where having to make constant decisions without clutter in mind may open channels to creativeness. A pad and pen will always be nearby.

The great actor Rod Steiger once stated "First you must entertain 'then' get your point across" and I try to entertain within the lines and then draw the reader into my topic. A favorite topic is about aviation from the pilot's point of view through the limitless panorama of a wrap-around windshield.

Thank you to all who read my poems.
